Bangkok
Bangkok, also known as Krung Thep meaning the City of Angels, is not only the capital of Thailand, but it is also its larger urban area and its business center. For years, Bangkok has been the one of the largest political, social and cultural centers of South East Asia and is truly a global city. Since then, Bangkok has become the main administrative area in Thailand with some of the biggest enterprises in the South East Asia area.
The population of Bagkok consists of some 8.2 million people but due to a large number of unregistered migrants from the North East of Thailand, this number turns around 15 millions residents which would officially make of Bangkok the 22nd largest city in the world. The city consists of multiple cultures such as Thai, Chinese, Indian, Buddhist, Muslim and Westerns which brings foreigners and investors from all around the globe into this wonderful capital.
Visiting Bangkok will make you discover amazing palaces, museums, wonderful public parks, zoos, huge shopping areas and markets, cruises, hotels, nightlife and a whole new cultural environment that you will never forget. Transportation has been made easy by the inauguration of BTS Skytrain in 1999 and MRT metro in 2004, with further extensions to these planned for the near future making even more of the city accessible to all.
