Bangkok offers plenty of activities and experiences for tourists and locals alike. Even so, it still has some secrets waiting to be discovered.

If you’re going to visit Bangkok for the holidays or want to know what activities you can enjoy, here are three secret activities you can enjoy:

1. A Lumphini Park Visit

While not as “secret” as the other things we suggested here, Lumphini Park is still worth the visit. Located in the heart of Bangkok, this beautiful park serves as a spot for relaxation for those seeking for such. For the ones looking to have a go at exercise, Lumphini Park also provides plenty of space for all sorts of activities.

While running around the park, you’ll get to see beautiful green parks and a stunning lake that reflects the skyscrapers that surround the area. It is quite a blissful feeling, knowing that you’re in such a serene place right in the center of a busy city.

2. A Muay Thai Experience

Of all the things you know about Thailand, its amazing martial art known around the world as Muay Thai should be one of them. This beautiful and deadly art utilizes the knees and elbows, along with other limbs of the body, to fight.

Do you know what’s better than getting to watch this deadly art form on TV? Watching it live for free, of course! If you’ve been dying to get a taste of the excitement this sport has to offer, then you’re in luck. There are plenty of arenas in Bangkok that feature this sport, and every Sunday, these arenas can be free, all paid by Channel 7 (a TV station) to make sure that the stands are full. Take this opportunity and watch this martial art live, and you’ll find yourself jumping out of your seat in pure excitement.

3. A Koh Kret Trip

If you have at least half a day to spare, spend it on a trip to Koh Kret. It is an island in Bangkok’s Chao Phraya River. That’s right, right in the middle of the city lies a paradise. It is the perfect place to escape the bustling and busy life the city has to offer and enjoy a relaxing atmosphere. Because rarely anyone comes to this place, you can be sure that you’ll have most of the site to yourself!

The whole island itself is small, allowing you to cover the entire place no more than three hours on foot. Of course, if you do not want to walk, you can just as easily rent a motorbike to explore the stunning island. Do note that sometimes, some of the paths can be flooded. However, this shouldn’t stop you from visiting this beautiful island. Keep an eye out for the beautifully crafted pottery the island is known for, as well as impressive temples erected on its grounds.

When you visit Bangkok, we highly recommend that you fit these activities into your schedule. Only when you experience these three can you genuinely say that you’ve explored Bangkok and experienced all that it has to offer!
